I wrote an article about this years ago. Illustrating how the planting of street trees and urban trees in general is still an exercise in futility.  Considering the amount of money and sensationalized claims cities make about  planting too trees the long-term results aren’t good.  We plant too many trees with little to no after care ending up with more dead young trees than success.  

I challenge our industry to do things differently so we can achieve better results.
