Long Hill
In 1917, Ellery and Mabel Cabot Sedgwick purchased 114 acres in Long Hill Beverly MA. Mabel, a well-known author and editor of The Atlantic Monthly, had designed the gardens at the estate. She died in 1937, but her husband and daughter remained dedicated to the property. The family continued to care for the property and its gardens. Today, the property is owned by the Trustees of the Reservations and open to the public. It is located at 572 Essex St, Beverly, MA 01915.

Marjorie Russell cultivated the gardens in Long Hill Beverly MA. She was an expert gardener and horticulturist, and she introduced many plants to the property. She also collaborated with the Arnold Arboretum in Boston to grow rare and exotic plants. She died in 1979, and her children donated the property to a nonprofit group. In 1988, the park was opened to the public. A visit to the garden is a must-do for any lover of plants.
