Based on the soil test results, we devised a specific fertilizer treatment to address the nutritional needs of the rhododendrons. Our chosen mix comprised of:
– **Bonemeal**: Provides essential phosphorus for root development.
– **Acidifier**: To lower the pH, creating an optimal environment for nutrient absorption.
– **Iron**: Vital for chlorophyll production, helping to restore the plant’s green color.
Application Process
We performed a granular application of this custom blend, ensuring it was thoroughly mixed and worked into the soil. With the assistance of rain and irrigation, we expect these nutrients to gradually seep into the root zone, addressing the chlorosis.
Monitoring and Follow-Up
It’s important to remember that correcting chlorosis is a gradual process. We plan to revisit the rhododendrons in late June and July to monitor new growth and evaluate the condition of the older leaves. The goal is to witness a transformation in the plant’s foliage from yellow to a healthy green.
